- Steve Moores.
- 22 SAS Regiment & Coldstream Guards – Died of wounds 8th October 1971 – Age 27
- In October 1971 an operation was launched in Dhofar Oman to establish bases on the Jebel to help stop the flow of men, weapons and ammunition to communist terrorists known as the ‘Adoo’ from attempting to destabilise the province. Operation Jaguar consisted of both G & B squadrons operating against the Adoo. This was a success, but sadly Steve Moores was badly wounded and died during the flight back to the UK.
- Steve is remembered here by his sister Gill, her children Alastair, Adam and Sophie, and by his brother Stirling and family – 8th October 2011.
