This is my personal tribute to all those SAS soldiers who lie in St. Martins Churchyard after loosing their lives in varying circumstances. Some Killed in Action, some from combat injuries and some from accidents.

Whatever the reason, their service to the United Kingdom and to the freedom of other Nations cannot be underestimated. Nor cannot is be ignored that these soldiers were based in Hereford, not necessarily born there but built up relationships, families and many friends during their service.

St. Martins was the first chosen cemetery for SAS Soldiers in Hereford and on my visit at the start of February 2026 I am pleased to find that all the Graves both inside the main plot and those in further reaches of the Graveyard are well maintained. So a great deal of thanks must go to the regular maintenance team attending to them.
