Annette Colton

This is my tribute to Annette Colton who was one of the very first volunteers to work in the Grove. Her gentle understanding of nature helped shape the Grove to what it is now and continues to do so.

I found an anonymous poem on the Internet and added it to her very first memorial in the Grove after the pathway was called Annette’s Memorial Way which led up to the Horse Chestnut Tree above her memorial.

This plaque is now in the Sun Room.

The pine tree at the Vera Atkins Memorial was grown by Annette from a seed found in a cone from Natzweiler Concentration Camp in France. This plaque is now in the Sun Room.

The new Hexagram plaque remembers Annette.
