The Grove is Greening up Quickly!

We have fitted today the new memorial plaque honouring “Don” Munro who served with 1 Para two others on the Wolverhampton Paras Seat. Don was commemorated on the 2nd September 2026 by members of the Wolverhampton Parachute Regimental Association.

We are pleased to announce that 40 Lapel Pin Badges have been donated in order to raise over £400 towards the memorials and maintenance of the Grove. These are available at £10 each including P&P in the UK. For Europe add £5 please. Of course any further donations towards the Grove would of course be very welcome.

We now have eight enamelled Lava Stone panels in the Grove and a further two will be added this this year once completed. These memorials are made by the Studio of Sonia Rinaldi in France.

This Canadian Maple is dropping its leaves a little earlier than usual but the fallen leaves will honour all those brave souls who lost their lives 84 years ago during the Dieppe Raid on the 18/19th August 1942. The tree is called “October Glory” and it is one of two Maple trees beside the Dieppe Raid Memorials.

The dead and dying Box Hedging has been removed from Peggy’s garden today and Peggy’s No.1 Glider has has a good clean and the other two will be cleaned soon. Along with this clean up Peggy’s Hedge has had a trim along with the NMA Topping out Yew Tree today.

We are pleased to have received an Intelligence Corps Shield, which has been fitted in the Sun Room. Re-cycled wood from the decking at the NMA FEPOW centre has been used to establish a better seat at the Bravo Two Zero memorial.

We are pleased to have added a very special memorial to a good friend of the Grove, Captain John Campbell MC & bar. This has been placed on the Popski’s Private Army memorial today.

We have started to replace the Sun Room floor frame today using the original heavy duty floor boards that we removed. Its amazing that after 14 years they are mostly all reusable with mostly no sign of rot. This will save us a few bob! More to follow on this slideshow this week.

We are pleased to announce that two new Lava stone enamelled panels are now complete and will be posted to us this week for installation in the Grove.

Work has started on renewing the wooden floor in the Sun Room at the centre of the Grove. The original under frame and boarding was installed in 2012.

Foamex Panels depicting future memorials have been added to the Sun Room ceiling honouring David Arnold SBS and Richard Westmacott MC 22 SAS.

Added to the Sun Room ceiling today are the Foamex panels for the finished memorials to the French Squadron 2nd SAS and Al Kindi MM along with a very small roundel to Captain John Campbell Mc and Bar that was too small for fitting on the Popski’s Private Army memorial. a roundel double the size will be in place soon.

Captain Richard Westmacott MC and Sergeant David Arnold. We have now received Foamex mock up memorial panels, which will be sent onto family members whilst the Lava stone panels are made in France. Copies of these panels will be sited in the Grove tomorrow.
