  • 1935-2010 – Wing Commander Bill Stoker took part in ground attack sorties in his Strikemaster jet against enemy forces attacking an SAS base at Mirbat, Dhofar Oman. His actions and that of other pilots helped save the day and defeated the assault on the base on the 19th July 1972.
  • Bill served with the Royal Air Force before joining the Sultan of Oman’s Air Force. – RAF Historical Society Page 125 onwards.
