Media Archive 1999-2027

We welcome visitors to this page on our website as since January 1st 1999, when we formed the Special Forces Association in Hereford with a mission to establish a Special Forces Memorial at Churchill House that would also house a museum and accommodation for ex forces in need as well as a drop in centre, which would help all ex forces.

Sadly this did not happen, but in 2003 we went to the National Memorial Arboretum, Alrewas, Staffordshire and were allowed by Sir David Childs to establish the Allied Special Forces Memorial Grove beside the River Tame in a very remote area of the original site.

During 27 years since our first mission to establish a Special Forces Memorial we have been the subject to a great deal of opposition!

However all they did was to promote just what we are doing well, and have been for all this time, as we are now officially part of the newly named Royal British Legion, National Remembrance Gardens as can be viewed on number 6 on the new map below!

The following list is not exhaustive of the attempts to stop our kind efforts but would give the visitor to this Website just what we had to tolerate to get where we are today. This archive is the start of a historical record of our progress so far.
