Robert Consiglio MM – Killed in action behind enemy lines – Iraq 27th January 1991 age 24.
22nd Special Air Service Regiment & 40 Commando Royal Marines.
During the 1st Iraq War Bob and his patrol were compromised behind enemy lines whilst searching for Scud Missile launchers that were firing into Israel. They escaped the initial gun fight and headed towards the border with Syria, but they were then engaged by superior enemy forces and sadly Bob was shot dead.
Bob is remembered here by his mother Janet, sister Lucinda, relatives, colleagues and fellow soldiers. 27th January 2011
